As a teenager I loved to sail with my cousin in our Mirror sailing dinghy through the Kyles of Bute. Many years on, I no longer sail but love to watch others. I particularly enjoy the days when the sea is rough and the sky is moody. Such was the day when I was inspired to produce this atmospheric painting of two little sailing boats cutting through the sea spray.
I have painted the scene on a quality deep edge canvas and continued the composition on the edges. Thus, you will find that you can hang this painting without framing.
As is usual, I have used acrylic paint, always of the highest quality available, which is made using pure pigment in 100% acrylic emulsion. These colours offer excellent permanency and lightfastness.
