This little painting depicts a stone cottage with a thatched roof, typical of homes in the Hebrides at one time. Unfortunately there aren't too many of them left now so I was delighted when found the opportunity to paint this one. It has the thick whitewashed walls and very deep window recesses and dark yellow roof. This cottage is situated next to the sea and the machair. Although the painting is suitable for framing it comes with its own mini easel allowing it to be displayed on a table top, desk or shelf etc
